The Original Ny Pizza Information

Walking into The Original Ny Pizza, you immediately get that no-frills, neighborhood pizzeria vibe that feels more like a slice of New York than suburban North Carolina. The place isn’t trying to be trendy or overdesigned, and honestly, that works in its favor. It’s casual, a little bustling during peak hours, and filled with the kind of energy you’d expect from a spot known for consistently solid pizza.

The menu leans heavily into classic Italian-American comfort food, with a strong focus on New York-style pies. Thin, foldable slices are the highlight here, with a crust that strikes a nice balance between crisp and chewy. I tried a standard cheese slice first, just to get a baseline, and it delivered exactly what you’d hope for-simple tomato sauce with a slight tang, a generous layer of melted mozzarella, and that signature wide slice that practically demands to be folded. The pepperoni version adds that satisfying salty kick, with edges that curl and crisp up just right.

Beyond pizza, the menu branches out into pasta dishes, calzones, and classic subs, which makes it a solid choice if you’re dining with a group that wants variety. The baked ziti, for example, comes out hot and bubbling with a hearty portion size, while the garlic knots are soft, buttery, and just the right amount of garlicky without being overwhelming. It’s clear the kitchen sticks to familiar recipes and executes them consistently, which is something many reviews seem to echo.

Service here is straightforward and friendly without being overly attentive. Orders come out fairly quickly, even when the dining area is busy, and the staff seems used to handling a steady flow of regulars and takeout orders. It’s the kind of place where you can grab a quick lunch, pick up dinner for the family, or sit down and enjoy a relaxed meal without feeling rushed.

The location on Tryon Road makes it convenient for locals in Cary, and it’s easy to see why it’s become a go-to spot in the area. Parking is simple, and the casual setup makes it accessible whether you’re dining in or just swinging by for a slice. While it may not have the polish of a high-end restaurant, what it offers is reliability, generous portions, and a menu that hits all the right notes for anyone craving classic New York-style pizza in a laid-back setting.

What People's Say About Place

I only ordered by the slice, but they were good. I really liked the amount of cheese on the cheese slice. It was like I didnt know the perfect amount of cheese until I ate that slice. Very friendly service and fair prices.

I read the low reviews and have yet to be convinced from them. One reviewer displayed a photo of supposed mold and all I saw was a zoomed photo of an enormous amount of bottled parmesano cheese dumped on his pizza. Another claimed floppy pizza, well anyone who knows NY pizza often folds their floppy pizza. It is tradition. Others claim bad food, but with no supporting photos except one who displayed chicken wings that she claimed was cook but no flavor. What? For me, this pizzeria is fine with good workers who are kind and polite and the pizza and wings are good. No it is not authentic NY pizza from NY. Go to NY if you want, but this pizzeria does an exceptional job. A word of advice to the owners, respond once in a while to the bad reviews.

The pizza tastes really good, and the people working there are kind. The service is fast and friendly, and the prices are fair for what you get. Definitely a nice spot to grab a slice!

Wow! I LOVE THIS PLACE --THE PIZZA --THE KINDNESS! I'm adding to my review after multiple visits here! I’m from North Carolina, so I I believe NY pizza MUST be the best since I love their pizza so much! They have thin crust and thick crust, always deliciously hot out of the oven with kind care — the manager greets everyone with a smile and a kind hello, you get to look at all the just-made choices where you choose your topping and they pop it in that pizza oven to get it piping hot & paying is easy. Then they let you know your order is ready, smiling—AND, I even heard the guy behind the counter, who saw the man with the kid, ask if he’d like a “kid cut.” Where else would they notice—much less ask—if they can do more to HELP?! It seems like a place where groups from work gather and yet it was comfy for me alone at this small table on the side. Almost every table was filled at lunchtime and no one waited very long, plus you sit at your table chatting til your order is ready then go get it when they call your name, It’s easy, DELICIOUS, outstanding and so appreciated!!!

The name is not a gimmick. This is the Real deal. I'd say this is the best pizza within 100miles of Raleigh. One of the best pizzas I've ever had and I've been around the country and world. The crust has just the right crisp. The cheese and sauce are on point. This place is clean. The service is polite and professional. The owner/management clearly take pride it their food.

Honestly the food here is great, imo. My only complaints are the sauces. Charging $1 for a cup of some room temp kens ranch is diabolical. I assumed like most authentic pizzerias they made their stuff in house. I was sadly mistaken. NY pizza if you guys actually monitor your reviews, please consider updating your website to state that the ranch is a cup and add a photo. You guys don't currently have photos of a few things on your website and that'd be helpful.

I thought it was a good Stromboli with a decent amount of filling and cooked through. It was a good hand-tossed crust that was sealed well enough to keep all the goodies in without leaking too much. It took about 15 minutest to be made fresh which is also about normal. They seem to have a decent reputation, so could be busy at times. Definitely like them better than the typical big chains.

This is one of my favorite lunch spots. I come here about once a week for the 2-slice-plus-drink combo. Both the thin slices and Sicilian slices are very tasty. The full sized pies are also great for a group. The staff is also SUPER friendly!
